How far in advance do you book for weddings and special events? Weddings can be booked up to a year in advance! Recommended booking is at least 6 months before weddings, as the wedding season typically books up quickly and Lynn takes only one event each weekend to provide each client the highest quality custom experience possible. For special event custom cakes, 2 months is recommended, although if you find you have less time before your event you can always email Lynn for her schedule availability.
What do you ice your cakes with? All cakes are covered with a Swiss meringue buttercream. Even under the fondant covered cakes there is a layer of the Swiss meringue which is made with real butter, Madagascar vanilla and sugar added to a meringue. It is rich, delicious and makes a gorgeous clean finish on a cake that is also stable enough for the warmer weather.
If you prefer the look of Fondant, it will be professional Satin Ice rolled fondant in vanilla or chocolate.
Cake pricing? Cake prices are based on the number of servings, the cake flavors you choose and the complexity of design.
Do you do tastings? Tastings for weddings are by schedule only and are a great way to meet and talk in detail about what cake, multiple cakes or cupcakes you would like to feature at your wedding. The cost is $20. and will include a personal consultation with your choice of 2 flavors to try. When your order is placed the $20. tasting fee will be deducted from your balance.
Do you deliver and will you customize my cake with fresh flowers? Yes for weddings, upon delivery Lynn personally sets your cake or cupcakes out free of charge. With your instruction your florist upon arrival to the venue on your wedding day will be able to leave your choice of flowers for the cake or cupcakes and Lynn will arrange them to your preference.
Also delivered with your cake, a cake box with how to save your anniversary tier instructions on top to safely transport and preserve your anniversary tier after the reception.
Do you require a deposit for Weddings? All wedding cakes or cupcake orders require a deposit in order to secure your day. The deposit is 50% of your total balance due. It would be due after you have had your tasting appointment when you receive your contract.
